Many brides today are embracing the inclusion of “something old” in their weddings in the form of heirloom pieces from their family. One of these such treasures is the cameo. These generally come in the form of a brooch or pendant and are often an oval shape with a portrait of a lady carved on the top in a contrasting colour. Cameo jewellery was super popular back in our Nanna’s day and even before then, so they often appear in a treasured trinket box and are brought out for special occasions.
Inspired by antique cameo jewellery, I’ve put together some images of cameo inspiration to carry through the theme for a wedding. I’m really loving this Marie Antoinette inspired feeling of old world ladies!
