MR WIGLEY

Can you tell us a bit about MR. WIGLEY?

My family’s photos were kept in the attic in an old brown leather doctors’ bag.

As a kid I spent hours looking through them, asking questions, wondering and imagining.

I have always loved old photos, that vintage look and feel, the warmth and romance.

They sparked my love of travel and photography. When I was 14, my uncle gave me my first camera and I haven’t stopped shooting since.

Photos can transport you to other places and times.

They capture a brief instant in life that will never exist again.

Photos can share our stories and dreams with our friends, family and the generations to come.

There is something truly honest, intimate and inspiring about these moments and the stories they tell.

Telling stories with my camera is my passion, and I bring that to each and every project.

Let me help tell your story – whether it’s an event or a quirky wedding – with images that are as unique as you.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Sydney - Mr Wigley

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, my camera and I love going on adventures together.

How would you describe your style?

Documentary, with a creative quirk…

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Sydney - Mr Wigley

Why do you think photography is such an important part of a couple’s big day?

It’s the one thing you will have left after your wedding is done and dusted. Moments you can share for the rest of your life – that for me is priceless and nothing else matches it.

What advice do you have for couples when they are thinking about their wedding photography?

Go with your gut, when you see a photographers work you will get a feeling, so go with that one. All photographers are different and have different styles so choose the one that feels right for you.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Sydney - Mr Wigley

What do you love most about being a wedding photographer?

I like seeing people happy and I love taking photos of people. So in that sense weddings fuse together both my loves.

Do you have a favourite wedding photograph?  What is the story behind it?

Yes a series of shots I took in an elevator – it was raining so while we were waiting for it to stop we made use of a bad situation and shot these in the couples apartment building. Spontaneous and creative – all the elements to make a good photo.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Sydney - Mr Wigley

What can couples expect when they visit your stand?

Lots of hugs lol. The wonderful world of MR.WIGLEY.

Are you running any specials on the day?

If they book a wedding in the six months post event they have a chance to win a free designed wedding album of their wedding.

The Travelling Bar

Can you tell us a bit about The Travelling Bar?

The Travelling Bar ‘more effectionally known as ‘TRAVS’, was an old school caravan which was totally resorted and renovated into a stylish mobile bar. He is the biggest around and features a wraparound bar made out of New Zealand Kauri with plenty of space to serve your guests. Travs is perfect for any occasion big or small, local or far.

Where are you based and what areas do you service?

Primarily we are based at Newport in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, but we will travel just about anywhere (within reason J ). Small travel fees apply if your event is outside a 25km radius of Newport.

Can you give us a run down on how to hire your lovely vintage bar and what options couples have with you?

Couples have the choice to hire us for a couple of hours (pre or post ceremony drinks) or for their whole wedding, it’s completely up to you. You just let me know how many hours you’d like us there for and we will make it happen. Once we’ve locked in your date, depending on where you are having your wedding, you will need to take care of any permits from councils or get permission from location owners etc. We require copies of these permits at least 2 weeks before your wedding. Generally 7 days before your wedding we will require final payment and final guest numbers. As we are non-licensed, you will provide us with all your alcohol and other drinks you wish to serve and we take care of the rest. We have the finest of Wine, Champagne and Beer glasses so no tacky plastic glasses for your guests! If you need help with deciding on how much beer or wine you think you will need that’s no problem, you can let us know and we will advise.

What advice do you have for couples when they are thinking about having a travelling bar at their wedding?

I’ve been to a number of ‘location’ weddings and I always thought how unattractive it was to see the beers dumped in an esky and wine on the table to self-serve. Hiring Travs will make your wedding a stand out and not to mention save on the costs of alcohol as you get to buy it yourself and aren’t paying the expensive per head prices – AND, you get to choose what you want to serve!

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Sydney - The Travelling BarBilling Photography

What do you love most about hiring a travelling bar?

I love hearing everyone’s comments when they come to get a drink from the bar ‘wow, check this out, it’s amazing’, ‘such a great idea’. Seeing the guest faces when we hand them an ice cold beer or a glass of champagne is just priceless. It’s so rewarding seeing everyone so happy.

What can couples expect when they visit your stand?

Couples will be able to see photos of our past events which have been on a rural farm in Orange to a private property on the beachfront in Clareville in NSW. We may even have some of our famous punch for you to sample too!

Are you running any specials on the day?

YES – we will be running a Vintage Bride Special which will be $650 for 3 hours/2 bar staff/Sydney metro area (conditions apply). Normally valued at $900. This will be on offer to anyone who visits the expo and booked within 2 months of the show.

Vellos Bridal

Can you tell us a bit about Vellos Bridal?

All Vellos Bridal gowns are individually designed and made for the bride. I do not believe creating hundreds of the same dress, that just takes the fun out of what I do. I work on a one on one basis with each of my brides, creating  something that is suited to their body shape, wedding theme and personality. I love seeing the excitement of the brides face with each fitting as she starts to see her dream dress come to life.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Sydney - Vellos Bridal

Where are you based?

Vellos Bridal is based in Yowie Bay in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire

How would you describe your style?

My style has a very “Vintage feel” which I achieve through the use of beautiful laces, feminine shapes and drapery. I believe that wedding dresses should be timeless and always keep this in mind when creating a gown, I love looking back on some of my earlier work and thinking that it still looks beautiful today. The best way to achieve this is not to look at the current trends for inspiration, but rather look back at fashions of decades past. I get excited about fashions dated between the 1920’s through to the 1970’s.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Sydney - Vellos Bridal

What advice do you have for brides choosing their wedding dress?

Don’t let other people’s opinions alter what you really want, it is your day and you need to be comfortable with your choices. Take some time to think about it don’t let yourself be bullied into making an on the spot purchase just because your entourage liked it or because a sales person has told you that if your don’t order in today then you can’t have it.

When should brides book in for your beautiful dresses at the very latest?

6 months is a comfortable time line to work with, but I have been known to make dresses on much shorter timelines and it can be done, just keep in mind that if you want lace on your dress, certain laces can take months to get so you may have to compromise on the one you really want if you don’t allow enough time to get it in.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Sydney - Vellos Bridal

What do you love most about making beautiful wedding dresses?

I love watching the brides reaction with each fitting, it is such a fun and exciting time of a girl’s life and I love being a part of that. I especially love it when they walk back through my door months later with their friend who is getting married and they are still talking about how much they loved their dress and are now recommending me to their friends.

What can couples expect when they visit your stand?

A taste of the types of dresses and accessories that Vellos Bridal have to offer. I am hoping to meet lots of potential Vellos Brides and am hoping to be able to answer any questions that they may have in relation to their wedding gown.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Sydney - Vellos Bridal

Are you running any specials on the day?

Yes, I am offering all Brides that book a Vellos Bridal Gown as a result of Vintage Bride a free veil or headpiece to match their gown.

I am also asking girls to find Vellos Bridal on facebook, and post their favourite thing about Vellos Bridal at the Vintage Bride Wedding Fair for their chance to win a faux fur shrug. I will be selecting a winner based on my favourite answer.

Marry Me Movies

Can you tell us a bit about Marry Me Movies?

Before we founded Marry Me Movies, before we had ever thought of producing wedding videos or realising we could empower people with their own memories, we were just employees working at television stations and in studios. We saw our friends and family getting married and receiving really terrible wedding videos, the kind you watch because you’re in it and quickly forget about it. They were missing out on watching back and experiencing their wedding all over again. When you go to a friend’s wedding, you enjoy all of the bits that the bride and groom miss, the stuff they don’t see when everything is moving at a million miles an hour, the jokes, the love, the preparations, the speeches and the after-party. It’s this kind of thing that makes a wedding and we wanted to capture that, even if it’s just so that their future daughter can watch it back 30 times in a row. We wanted a community of couples that started their marriage off in the best possible way, were able to relive the day their love was the strongest and tap into that whenever they wanted to.

Years later, and far away from the rush of the TV studios, we’ve created just that. A community of people dedicated to spreading that message and helping empower people to pursue a better life and happier future. Our couples are now stronger than ever and getting to share in that is a real privilege.

Why do you think videography is such an important part of a couple’s big day?

Photo and video is essential for remembering your big day. It only happens once and it’s really important to properly document the hundreds of little moments that come together to make up your wedding day. One of the first couples we had just had their daughter turn four, she’s probably watched their video upwards of 50 times and can’t stop talking about getting married one day. Its little things like that that really make having a video of your day worthwhile.

What advice do you have for couples when they are thinking about their wedding videography?

We recently wrote a blog post called the “7 Tips for choosing the right videographer” .

  • Make sure their qualified.
Every second person, their dog and 12 cats, claims to be a photographer or filmmaker to some degree, and while this is great, do you really want an inexperienced videographer to shoot your special day? So check their credentials, make sure they know what they’re doing, because you want your video to magical, and only the best can produce magic.
  • Don’t hire someone you can’t stand
We all have those people who absolutely irritate us to absurdity. We just find them aggravating, grating and just impossible to be around. As such, when choosing who to hire to make your video, make sure you actually get along with them, because you will be working closely with them. It just takes that little bit of stress out of organising a wedding, and makes your life that much simpler (and we all know life is better when it’s simple).
  • Check out their previous work and make sure it’s the type of video you want
All weddings are unique and different, all with their little quirks and personal touches. Naturally, you want your video to reflect this, you want your video to be personal, emotional and your own. So when choosing a videographer, make sure it’s the style you want, that reflects who are and your special day, because in the end, your video is your own.
  • Get value for money
Like anything you purchase consider the price, and what you get for that price. Hire a videographer that produces your magical and unique video, for a bargain. Shop around, have a look, consider your options, because weddings are expensive and getting a great deal will make organising everything much easier.
  • Don’t rush, take your time
If you find someone you think you might like, don’t act on impulse and hire them immediately, because after the video is produced you might realise that it’s not quite what you wanted, and by then it’s far too late. So be conservative and consider your options, meet with them beforehand, do everything to make sure this person is the person you want to make that beautiful video.
  • Have a plan of what you want
Having a plan makes life easier, and an easy life is a good life. So have a plan for your video. It doesn’t have to be a step-by-step screenplay, just have an idea, an image in your head of the moments you want to capture in that video
  • Have fun!
It’s your wedding, it’s your day, have fun. Have fun thinking about your video and all you want it to capture. Have fun working with your videographer. It’ll just reduce the stress and headaches that come with planning a wedding, and make life so much better.

What do you love most about being a wedding videographer?

Getting to share in a really special day is easily the best part. When two people who love each other are saying their vowels it’s a really special moment. Sometimes you can’t help but get emotional when they tear up.

Do you have a favourite wedding video?  What is the story behind it?

Rachel & Tyson are easily our favourite couple and the one we chose to feature of our website. Their family was so welcoming and genuine that we really felt like we were part of their clan. But the main reason its our favourite is the couple themselves. When we met them for the first time it was really obvious that the connection they had something really special and getting to share in that for one day was something we won’t forget.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Sydney - Marry Me MoviesAnne Tenne Photography

What can couples expect when they visit your stand?

They can expect a little bit of a break. Wedding expos can be a really big day and pretty exhausting. We want couples to come over, say hi and take a moment to watch a video and get a little bit more exciting for their own big day.

Are you running any specials on the day?
