Life is Peachy

Can you tell us a bit about Life is Peachy?

Life is Peachy is an online stationery boutique creating printed invitations, and stationery. Forget the lace, ribbon and buckles… we have invitations that are beautifully designed and speak for themselves.

We have a huge range of invitations for the vintage bride, which can be complemented with matching items including RSVP cards, wishing well cards, placecards and much more!

Find a design you love but it’s in the wrong colours? No problems!! We can change the colours for you!

Life is Peachy also specialises in some unique items, including REAL WOOD invitations (yes, they’re printed on real wood!) and fingerprint tree kits which make a great memento from your wedding day.

All of our invitations are printed on a high quality digital press, and there is no assembly required. All you have to do is place the invitation inside the envelope and send. We can even organise clear address labels for your envelopes to save you precious time!

Where are you based and what areas do you service?

Life is Peachy is based in Newcastle, but we do all of our business either online, by email or over the phone.  We have excellent service and have 100% customer satisfaction!

How would you describe your style?

I think one word to describe our style would be colourful. We have a large range of designs to suit any bride from kraft background vintage inspired invitations to modern, bright and colour popping styles.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - Life is Peachy

What advice do you have for couples choosing their invitation suite?

Choose a theme and stick to it. Whether you draw your inspiration from a colour combination (eg. mint and gold) or even a flower (eg. peonies), it’s lovely to have a stationery suite that matches and complements your wedding style.

There’s so many options, so if you have a clear idea of what your theme is, it will be easier to choose something you’re really happy with.

How early should couples look at booking in?

We recommend putting some thought into your invitations as soon as possible. If you’re looking at sending out Save the Date cards, you can do these as soon as you’ve set a date, or approximately a year before your wedding if you’re planning on a long engagement.

Life is Peachy has a very quick turnaround for invitations compared to industry standards, so if you’ve left it to the last minute, don’t panic! We recommend sending your invitations out at least 2 months before your wedding, so we like to hear from couples at least a month before that.

If you’re after a custom design, leave a little more time so we have the time to make your design 100% perfect!

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - Life is Peachy

What do you love most about making wedding invitations?

I love the process right from the start to the very end! I love getting enquiries from customers who are just starting to brew ideas and then working with them to create something they totally love. With a print and design background, we do every single process ourselves right through from the design to printing, cutting and packaging which means we have total control over the production of our products. Our customers are always impressed with the finished result!

What do you think are the upcoming trends for 2014/2015 weddings?

I think the upcoming trends for the remaining of this year and next year will lean towards opulence and luxury, and also industrial minimalist as a contrasting style.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - Life is Peachy

What can couples expect when they visit your stand?

They can expect to see lots of our stationery samples in a vintage setting. We will have lots of samples of our invitation range, as well as our unique real wood invitations.

GMTMT Films

Can you tell us a bit about GMTMT Films?
Is an AIPP accredited video producer. Cinematography and editing is carried out in house by Brad Smith in his “Good Mate, Thanks Mate, Tah!” production studio.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - GMTMT Films

Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! Destination Weddings are an amazing opportunity to capture something special. I’ve been lucky to shoot Weddings all over Australia including in Tasmania, Uralla and Tamworth.

How would you describe your style?
Cinematic with a twist of vintage!

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - GMTMT Films

How early should couples book with you?
12 months in advance is likely to secure your date with me, some couples book further in advance. I only require a small booking deposit which is “user friendly” should dates or plans change.

Why do you think videography is such an important part of a couple’s big day?
It would have to be audio. Hearing the vows, the speeches, the lips “smack” as the first kiss is sealed. I also believe capturing movement delivers true representation of the emotion felt on the day.

Things like the bride’s dress blowing in the breeze, the flickering of a candle on the bridal table, the sliding landscape during a location shoot…. Sharing a Teaser Trailer with your friends on Facebook will blow them away.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - GMTMT Films

What advice do you have for couples when they are thinking about their wedding videography?

Book early. There are some good Videographers out there but only a few truly passionate ones. Look for accreditations from Nationally recognized institutions.

Check for consistency in their work because this will give couples a good sense of their filming style and how often they produce something truly perfect.

Check their Facebook page for “likes” generally no-one will follow something they are not interested in. If you like someones work then follow their updates.

Ask lots of questions. Most of my couples book without a consultation but if you are a little nervous then set up a meeting to calm the nerves.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - GMTMT Films

What is your favourite thing about videography?

Looking up from the camera when the bride and groom exchange vows. It’s probably the only time I take my eye’s off the camera screen. Just watching and hearing the exchanges puts me right in the middle of a moment. Love it.

Do you have a favourite wedding video?  What is the story behind it?
I have been lucky to be part of so many great weddings. I remember them all. One in particular was for Shae and Filip. Shae is from New Zealand and Filip from Sweden. They met in the UK but their wedding was held in the Hunter Valley where they gathered guests from all over the world to travel and meet with them for their big day. I felt like I was surrounded by the world. What was remarkable was their absolute love for each other, and I knew how much love they had for each other while listening to the vows and during the speeches later that night. Not only did they both share wholly everything they felt, their guests randomly stood up to also share some words about them. It was a cosy and intimate feeling even though their guestlist was around 80. I whisked them away to a secret location after their ceremony. One they said they’ll never forget. We still keep in touch to this day and they are now expecting a little baby this year and we are arranging to meet up and film a little follow up story with them. Really looking forward to it, just a beautiful couple who will do anything for anyone.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - GMTMT Films

What can couples expect when they visit your stand?
Hopefully a fully informed chat. We can take some time to talk about what the plans are for their day. I’ll have some trailers for them to watch and they’ll also have a chance to check out our Super 8 film footage running through my projector.

My Super 8 is available for the brides and grooms during their location shoot on the big day.

Tracey Walsh Marriage Celebrant In Between Dreams

Can you tell us a bit about being a celebrant?

Being a celebrant is a true privilege!  Not only are you responsible for all the legal requirements, before, during and after the ceremony, but the tone of the day can also be set, just by the words spoken during the ceremony! I take great pride in getting to know my couples and hearing their special stories.  That way I can create for them a very personal ceremony that they can truly call their own!

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - Tracey Walsh Marriage Celebrant

Where are you based and what areas do you service?

I am based in the Lake Macquarie area; I also service our beautiful vineyards region up in the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and the Central Coast.  I have been known to hop on a plane and head to Queensland and I have also been found performing a ceremony on a yacht on beautiful Sydney Harbour…lucky me!

What advice do you have for couples choosing their celebrant?

It is a very important decision, so take your time making your choice. Each couple is totally unique and different…the same with celebrants; they all offer their own individual personality and theirown unique style.  Talk to a few different celebrants so you can get a feel for who will be right for you.  When you make a connection with the celebrant and it feels comfortable and relaxed… you will know you have chosen well… You should feel comfortable and confident that your celebrant will help make your day one of the most wonderful and magical days of your life.

 Nicole Butler Photography

How early should couples book with you?

Couples should try and book their celebrant when they book their venue, which can be up to 18 months in advance.  If they book early it is one of those very important things that they can cross off their to do list!

What is your favourite wedding story?

I do have a quite a few faves…but my all time favourite is one I have just done…my own daughter’s ceremony…very special indeed, and hard to top!  I had the extreme pleasure of marrying my gorgeous girl to the man of her dreams. What an incredible, emotional experience for me and also such a huge honour!  Surrounded by friends and family they made their very personal vows to each other and it was just amazing!

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - Tracey Walsh Marriage Celebrant

What do you love most about being a celebrant?

I am always amazed, touched and truly inspired by couples in love!  I love creating personal ceremonies where couples can share their own unique story.  One of my very favourite parts of the ceremony is before the ceremony even begins. It is watching the groom’s face as he see his beautiful bride walking toward him!  I get to see that emotion right up close and it is such a very intimate moment and I am right there to see it…very, very special!  I have been known to shed a tear myself…I mean who doesn’t cry at a wedding right?

What do you think are the upcoming trends for 2014/2015 weddings?

Trends for this season and beyond seem to be heading toward the more intimate, simple, bespoke and romantic type of ceremony.  The vintage shabby chic theme really seems to be very popular, and personally I just love it!

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - Tracey Walsh Marriage Celebrant

What can people expect when they visit your stand?

I am sure they will find me someone who they can sit down and have a chat to (I do like to have a chat…occupational hazard I guess!) and also feel comfortable with.  I can’t wait to hear all their plans for their big day and hopefully I can help them with any questions at all they may have!

Are you running any specials on the day?

I will have a special gift to give to the first couple who book with me on the day!

Sixpence Wedding Photography

Can you tell us a bit about Sixpence Wedding Photography?
Awesome photography that is ridiculously affordable! Sixpence isn’t about going with trends, we are quirky, indie and fun and we love what we do! We aren’t down with generic photography it’s not at all how we roll. We aren’t posers and we never will be, we are unique as you are! We love to break the rules!

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - Sixpence Wedding Photography

Do you travel for weddings?
OMG yes! We travel anywhere in the world to capture and share amazing stories of love and happiness!

How would you describe your style?
We want you to remember the realness of your wedding so we are going to capture it as it happens..candidly and naturally with a film like quality that oozes vintage charm….it is going to be awesome!

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - Sixpence Wedding Photography

How early should couples book with you?
At anytime really but the sooner the better though, just so you don’t miss out!

Why do you think photography is such an important part of a couple’s big day?
Photography is one of the very few elements couples away from the wedding day that allows them to remember and share memories with family and friends. Wedding photographs don’t last for only for one day,….wedding photographs last a lifetime! Over the years the memories are also passed onto to children and grandchildren, your life long love story!

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - Sixpence Wedding Photography

What advice do you have for couples when they are thinking about their photography?
Make it personal! Find someone that suits your style, captures your uniqueness, sets you apart and that you are comfortable with! Ask loads of questions and collaborate on your ideas.

What is your favourite thing about photography?
We love to be able to capture a moment, then when looking back feeling like you are back there! Our couples love our story telling style, share our distaste for all things posed, and relate best to authentic, timeless images that are not only beautiful, but unapologetically human.

Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle - Sixpence Wedding Photography

Do you have a favourite wedding photograph?  What is the story behind it?
We have many! Our favourite moment by far of the day is being able to capture the emotion when a bride and groom see one another for the very first time – one of those serendipitous moments that you just can’t predict or replicate that shows absolute true love!

What can couples expect when they visit your stand?
You get to meet us and we can’t wait to meet you! Apart from being wedding photographers we are married too and we remember what it was like. We also remember how insanely overwhelming the whole process of choosing a wedding photographer way…..so we are going to make it simple and in doing so probably annoy the wedding industry along the way. So lets break some rules!
