Vintage Bridal Fashion Inspiration from Original Vintage Wedding Magazines

As an avid vintage wedding fan, and also a lover of good old print magazines (I love to hold something in my hand and flick through the pages so much more than scrolling through a bright screen!), I am finding myself slowly collecting some fabulous original vintage wedding magazines which span from the 1940s to 1960s at the moment.

Throughout the pages of these magazines, not only are there so many giggle worthy pieces of advice that the modern bride would deem so completely old fashioned and even questionable in our liberated society today, there are also page after page of stunning original vintage wedding dress inspiration.

As vintage weddings have been popular for a number of years, when you do a google image search or a search on pinterest for ideas such as vintage wedding dresses you tend to find a number of modern day vintage inspired gowns and overall bridal looks.  Now don’t get me wrong – these are stunning and perfectly suitable, but for some of us it is the genuine, original vintage inspiration we are seeking to replicate for our vintage bridal gown or vintage veil etc.  These can be a little more tricky to find!

While collecting these stunning magazines I’m finding I’m also gathering some priceless original inspiration images and being the sharing kinda girl that I am I’ve decided to start showcasing these cute as a button original vintage images taken from my original vintage magazines for your own inspiration regularly via social media.  So if you are a lover of original vintage bridal fashions be sure to follow Vintage Bride on Facebook or Instagram to check out these gorgeous inspiration shots as they are posted!

(First I’ll be starting with some fabulous 1960s bridal looks from the magazine below which also features some great bridesmaid and mother of the bride/groom fashions from the 60s which are perfect for the modern vintage wedding)
