Vendor of the Month – Elyssium Blooms

At The Vintage and Handmade Bride, we do love flowers! But not your standard run of the mill flowers, we love flowers with attitude and meaning, flowers with gum nuts and wattle, flowers with burlap and string, these are a few of our favourite things…. which is why we are delighted to introduce Elise from Elyssium Blooms who creates stunning bouquets with a few of our favourite things as our December Vendor of the Month.  Not only is Elise amazingly talented, she is also such a wonderfully nice chick! We had a bit of a chat with her recently while we oohhhhed and ahhhhed over her gorgeous bouquets!!

So Elise, what’s your favourite thing about your job?

I get to meet with people at such a fun and exciting time in their lives, and I get to be apart of a day they will remember forever! We get to be there on the day, transforming a venue, and there is always a feeling of love in the air..

Do you have a favourite flower, if so what is it?

I sure do! I’m a bit of a girly girl, so I love anything fluffy and pink! Peony Roses are my faces, they look so delicious you could eat them! They are so versatile, and can be designed along side so many different flowers and foliages to create a different feel. “LOVE them” would be an understatement 🙂

Do you have any advice to couples when choosing their flowers?

Other then the obvious, of picking flowers in season of when you get married (otherwise you’ll be paying a little more for blooms imported from overseas).. Pick the flowers you love! Everyone likes a certain look, or colour, so go with it! The biggest mistake you’ll make is letting any florist push you into having something you really aren’t keen on. Remember that you will see these in your photographs for the rest of your lives, so its an important decision.

Where are you located?

We have a cute little studio in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.

What area do you service?

We service from Northern NSW (Byron Bay area) right up to Brissy. We are also more then happy to travel further for our brides, we recently went to Sydney to create wedding flowers!

If you had to describe your style in 3 words only, what would they be?

What’s you favourite wedding memory?

Hmm.. We were a big part of a wedding back in June, we were there setting up all day and creating beautiful things. So we stayed for the ceremony and got the see the bride just before she walked out, on her fathers arm. You could just feel the excitement and love bounding through the room! She was beautiful!

So head on over and check out her gorgeous bouquets and share the facebook love gorgeous people!
