Romantic Country was the inspiration behind Mackay based couple Trista and Brad when it came to their wedding day. Trista is a lover of all things pretty and vintage while Brad loves anything outdoors, so a romantic outdoor wedding ceremony filled with gorgeous pastel vintage touches and soft floral arrangements suited them to a tee!
The wedding was a surprise engagement party with all of their guests arriving under the assumption they were attending an afternoon engagement party. However upon arrival they all had the exciting surprise to discover they were attending Trista and Brads wedding instead!
To keep a lovely, relaxed feeling to the day there were no long trestle tables during the reception part with no assigned seating, but instead a pool table and a live band. When it came to choosing wedding professionals to work with on their wedding day the couple went with vendors via word of mouth recommendations as well as selecting those who suited the vibe they were going for. Trista shares, “We really wanted fun vendors that didn’t mind something a bit different. The venue was perfectly suited the country/outdoor theme. The photographer was chosen because of her amazing natural photographs and eye for detail. The videographer was chosen because if the beautiful wedding videos she makes. Flowers because Mel has an amazing eye for detail and was happy to work with my constantly changing ideas.“
Trista’s wedding dress was truly meant to be with a lovely coincidence allowing her to find her dream wedding dress. “I had fallen in love with House of Mooshki’s tea length vintage style dresses however didn’t have the time or funds to have one made in time. I spent hours searching on the internet and eventually found one in the UK on a wedding buy swap sell page, it was love at first sight. This dress was custom made to another bride to be’s measurements and they just so happened to be almost the exact same as mine. When it finally arrived it was a perfect fit!”
It was a wonderful family affair with respect to decorating their venue with Brad’s mother hand making all of the paper flowers that featured on the flower wall behind the cake stand. Meanwhile Trista’s mum spent weeks sourcing vintage crystal vases from op-shops and then hand pouring soy candles into some of them which created a romantic ambience throughout the evening. All of the cake trays, the cake knife and servers were all vintage as well, providing a very special keepsake for the couple from the day.
