If ticket sales this week are anything to go by, we’re looking at having a massive day on Saturday with lovely brides to be and their fiance or family coming to meet our lovely wedding vendors. For those who really want some time to chat with our wedding professionals, it may be even wise to come a little later in the day as we are certainly going to be beyond capacity if everyone comes at the same time.
Still on the fence about whether it’s worth coming or not? Well here are a few more of the fabulous businesses who are busy preparing to showcase their work and can’t wait to meet you!
Kath Scott Photography
We are a husband and wife team working our hearts out from our South East Queensland country studio. Matt is the smiley one, good at organisational stuff, writing and keeping me on track. I have some fancy cameras and love taking photos. All the freaking time! People who love to work with us are usually authentic, down-to-earth, happy in their own skin kind of people who want an honest and fun retelling of their perfect day and the people who shared it with them. They think that candid pictures with family and friends are waaaaay more important than a 2 hour bridal portrait session. And we agree.
Bravo Juliet Design
Bravo Juliet Designs is a range of vintage style vases, poured in colourful resin. Why resin? A resin vase is lighter, colourful (perfect for matching to your theme) and unbreakable! They are available to hire or for purchase as a memento of your special day.
From selecting the vases in antique or second hand shops, to making the vase mould and choosing and mixing each colour, I do every step. All on my kitchen table!
Imagine a single vase next to the cake… or a mixed scattering of vases down the middle of the long table… or single bowl centerpieces for each table overflowing with blooms… whatever you can imagine there is something for all events and budgets in the Bravo Juliet Designs range.
Bravo Juliet Designs is Brisbane based. I am happy to organise for you to pick up/drop off your vases from my home (based at Tarragindi on the inner south side), or we can make arrangements depending on where your wedding or event will be.
I will be showcasing my vases at this year’s Vintage and Handmade Wedding Fair, showing the range of colours and styles that are available for hire. I’m adding to it all the time, so click ‘like’ on my Facebook page and/or watch the latest happenings over on Instagram.
All visitors will get a code for 10% off hire or purchase that will last for a year!
Gillian Bell Cake
Could the most special cake of your life save a local food system?
Well, maybe not ;). But it will make a difference.
Gillian of Gillian Bell cake makes beautiful handmade cakes from organic, seasonal and local produce. She individually sources and carefully selects the ingredients for every cake she makes.
The eggs, flour, cream and butter come straight from the farmers. She even has a share in a local herd of Jersey cows, raised on organic pastures, to ensure she gets the best quality dairy for her cakes! In her postage stamp-sized garden, Gillian grows a small range of organic fruits and edible flowers for her cakes, and makes her own preserves. If she can’t grow it, she sources seasonal fruits and flowers from organic growers.
As a life-long home baker, Gillian is able to develop her own recipes and create unique flavour profiles to suit the occasion and the season, as well as meet a wide range of dietary needs and lifestyle choices.
” I am very happy to spend as much time consulting with couples about the taste and texture of their wedding cake, as the design itself “, she says.
Gillian’s philosophy is that your wedding cake is the most special cake of your life, so it deserves to be made from the finest ingredients and with the attention and care that the occasion demands. She wouldn’t have it any other way!
