Like so many, I’ve been in love with taking photos since I was first given a cheap little camera as a wee slip of a girl. This grew into a fond obsession and I upgraded to something a bit snazzier as soon as I could (my Dad’s old SLR). Since then, I’ve continued with my passion for photography and the desire to create something truly amazing from it, journeying through film to digital and back again.
A few things you should know about me:
I love people. I think they’re fascinating and the diversity throughout our species never ceases to amaze me.
I love being around people on a wedding day, watching everyone’s expressions and the way they interact with one another. It’s just magical for everyone involved.
I love nature; I grew up in the country so I’ll always be a country girl at heart.
I love dogs too. This was a discovery that came to me later in life, for years I didn’t get dogs and now I can’t be without them!
I love shooting film, you just can’t beat the colour of film and it’s ability to capture light so beautifully.
And I love light too. Light is amazing!! I’ve still so much to discover about this thing that creates a photo and the various forms it comes in and I find it sooo intriguing.
I love music and I love to dance. Before I stepped out as a photographer I was a dancer and I still love photographing movement and dance.
I love the look of soft fabric in the wind. Ok, so this is a bit cheesy but there is just something about the way fabric brings the wind to life and vice versa, I always want to capture it.
Just about everyone would agree that a wedding day is one of the most exciting, emotional, wonderful and significant events of your life. I will be there to capture your day and record it for you in a way that will return you to its memory over and over again. My photography is about chasing that moment which represents a slice of life, capturing a feeling, a place in time. It is about authenticity but also about beauty, about creating a story that is your story and your moments. These are the elements I hope to give you through my work, the photographs you will have for the rest of your life.
I’ll be offering a 10% discount all album packages for any weddings booked this year as part of my own vendor promotion.
Impressworks offers a contemporary letterpress product using traditional tools and methods for customers across Australia. Our Gold Coast business places a strong emphasis on nurturing the letterpress print experience for designers and artisans through quality material, craftsmanship and simplicity.
Letterpress is a 500 year old print form surging in popularity due to its rich, tactile results and unique physical print’impression’. Impressworks has carefully refurbished a 1963 Heidelberg Windmill Platen Press and a 1918 Chandler & Price Platen Press and is using the timeless machinery to produce quality, handcrafted prints featuring detailed, debossed impressions.
In keeping with the traditional aspects of the letterpress print form, Impressworks has based its philosophy around the Arts & Crafts movement of the late nineteenth century, a time when craftsmanship and attention to detail were valued over mass production.
The Arts & Crafts movement was a time when designers rebelled against the churning machines of the industrial revolution and took a step back to appreciate quality in individually handcrafted pieces. We believe that today’s print consumers are faced by similar adversities, and for their product to stand out in an increasingly digital age it must be a truly special, handcrafted piece.
At Impressworks we strive to bring our customers on-screen designs to life through quality material, high-end craftsmanship and simplicity in service. Our presses come from a time when machinery was built to last, we are using the finest cotton stocks and our production team are producing superb letterpress results for customers across Australia.
