Brisbane Racing Club
(also the generous venue host for our wonderful day!)
Steeped in history, The Brisbane Racing Club at Eagle Farm and Doomben Racecourses is the perfect setting for an elegant wedding. Acres of beautifully manicured lawns and leafy gardens provide the perfect backdrop for outdoor ceremonies and receptions and there are also a number of beautifully-appointed function rooms that can host intimate affairs or grand celebrations.

One of our most popular reception venues is the Tote Room at Eagle Farm Racecourse. Built in 1913, The Tote offers a banquet hall complete with 18 foot ceilings, natural worn brick walls and polished timber floors. The Tote’s most unique features are the original tote windows, once used by punters placing their bets. Racing memorabilia adorns the walls, adding to the unique character of this venue. The sheer space of this room lends to both cocktail style and seated events.
The Laboratory is another beautiful reception venue located at Eagle Farm Racecourse. The Laboratory is tucked within Eagle Farm’s oldest grandstand. Built in 1889, the Laboratory (as the name suggests is the former racing scientific testing lab). In its contemporary form The Laboratory is a stunning function space featuring polished wooden floors, ornate lounge furnishings and a large deck with views of the racecourse.

From our beginnings in 2007, Connections Catering has been devoted to creating a company that provides our customers witha meaningful food experience.
The act of sharing food with others is a time-honoured tradition all over the world and is a demonstration of the wonderful everyday moments of human connection.
We believe that great food is meant to be shared and encourage a greater awareness and connection to the way in which food is grown, prepared, cooked and presented. At Connections Catering we make that a possibility for our customers and that is why we love what we do.
At the heart of Connections Catering you will find a team of people dedicated to providing delicious, fresh, wholesome, handmade food. Connections Catering uses only the best quality local produce and wholeheartedly believes that sustainable, seasonal and safe food is fundamental to good health and great flavour.
We believe in sustainability, wise environmental practice, community, giving back and above all things, integrity. In line with this, we use a considered approach when choosing our staff, suppliers, business and charitable partners.
Supporting local farmers and manufacturers is important to us. We aim to cook great tasting seasonal food, while respecting the environment we live in.Reducing food miles, supporting local economy and remaining connected to the way in which food is grown and manufactured is vital to the Connections Catering philosophy.
We choose to use only eco-friendly and biodegradable packaging and non-toxic cleaning products produced in an ethical manner thusensuring minimal impact on the environment. We recycle, reuse and reduce our waste whenever and wherever we can.
Inside the kitchen of Connections Catering it is not uncommon to find staff engaged in discussions about how food has been grown and manufactured, where it has come from, which fruits and vegetables are in season and how best to inspire customers with a range of ingredients and menu plans to suit their needs.
The Connections Catering team are passionate about providing our customers with the best possible food experience. The team LOVE to cater weddings and all sorts of happy occasions. While we have many menu options to choose from, we prefer to work with you to create a menu that reflects your personalities and flair for life.
We will also be running our own competition from our stand on the day, so don’t forget to visit us and find out more!!

Iridescent Blush Blooms
~ When Real Flowers Just Won’t Do! ~ Today’s brides are choosing keepsake bouquets for their weddings for many reasons. Some are creating unique wedding colour themes or styles that real flowers are not suitable for. Others want to use out of season flowers that would be prohibitive in price if real, while the budget conscious brides want to order their flowers well ahead of the big day. Some brides are allergy sufferers, others are travelling to destination weddings and some have just fallen in love with the brooch and bling bouquets that are pieces of art perfect for the keeping.
I am at my creative best when invited to share in a couple’s wedding vision and asked to create colour co-ordinated, handmade Keepsake Bouquets for brides and attendants, Boutonnières and Corsages from new and upcycled Brooches, Jewels and Pearls, Feathers, Sea shells, Crystals, Air-dry Clay and Real Touch, Silk or Organza flowers to suit any circumstance or budget.
It would be my honour to assist you with your Keepsake Bouquet needs.
