Fresh and cute, this styled shoot created by our friends in LA, Yellow Bird Weddings and Events, was captured by Brian Leahy Photography. Yoleine says, ‘I wanted to keep the feel classic, but whimsical and slightly quirky!‘
Located in the Malibu Golf Course, Malibu and Vine Bar and Grill was the picturesque backdrop for this inspiration shoot. The lush green lawns teamed with the soft peach and cream hues create a fresh vibrant feeling.
Delicate soft shades of fresh flowers were arranged along the table with roses being the feature flower to add a touch of classic romance.
Yoleine created this fantastic paper pinwheel backdrop. Instructions on how to make your very own pinwheel backdrop will be featured in the second issue of our magazine! These can be made in so many different colours to create either a soft subtle space such as this, or a really vibrant and colourful backdrop that pops in front of the camera.
The vertical ripples of the cake created by Designer Cake Gallery tie in perfectly with the concertina folds of the paper pinwheels behind.
A painted white lattice piece has been used as the support for all of the gorgeous paper pinwheels for this shoot. These are super cheap and easy to find in hardware stores and can be painted to match your colour theme. They do make attaching any decorative items super easy, not just paper pinwheels but tissue pompoms or even fresh or silk flowers intertwined throughout the lattice.
A stunning single large flower in the side swept updo is gorgeous. There are so many online artisans selling lovely hand crafted hair flowers, although they can be really easy to create yourself. For something such as this one all you need is a flower hair clip that you love, and hot glue either an antique decorative button or a sparkling brooch in the center (some brooches will even pin through the flowers so you can use it separately down the track).
Awww…. gotta love a cheeky shoe shot! Too cute with the two tone mary jane shoes – I want a pair!!
These oversized helium balloons are absolutely huge right now (pardon the pun!!). Although DIY kits can be purchased, they are a bit of a nuisance to set up yourself with all that messing around with helium tanks. When there are so many amazing businesses around offering a styling service why not save the hassle and allow your local vendor to come up with a colour scheme to suit your wedding day along with the fringing tassels and have them bring them along for you!
