Love Sweet Love… Getting to Know You… Float!

We love balloons, but not just any balloons, we love giant balloons with shiny tassels from FLOAT.  We chatted with Toni about her sweet little business, who will be one of our vendors at Love Sweet Love on the 13th of Jan at the Gabbinbar Homestead.  Make sure you get your tickets and come down to see the gorgeousness, and FLOAT’s amazing giant balloons!

So tell us a bit about your business, how did you start?

Float started out almost by accident. I’d seen images of giant balloons a couple of years ago on blogs overseas and just instantly fell in love with them! I had a friend that was getting married, and she wanted something different for her wedding, and I sent her some images and she loved them as well. So I started the long and arduous task of trying to find someone that would ship them overseas, and the rest is history. I created some balloons for my friends wedding, her wedding photographer put images of them on facebook and then I had brides and event planners tracking me down, asking me to do balloons for their event!

What do you love about FLOAT?

What I love most about doing this is getting to share the excitement of the brides I work with, as they plan for their big day. Some brides are absolutely certain on the look and theme of their day and know exactly what they want, and some will still be deciding and we can have long discussions about different colours and textures and looks, so no balloon is ever the same. I love it when brides send me images of how they’ve used their balloons, and just seeing how happy they are, it really makes my day.

If you had to describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?

I’ve never been one to blow my own trumpet and I find it hard to describe myself, so I asked a couple of my close friends how they would describe me and these are the three words they used: Talented, creative and motivated.

What’s your favourite wedding memory?

I love it when I get to deliver the balloons in person, in all their spherical glory. Getting to see a bride’s reaction at seeing their balloons, and just the look of whimsy and amazement on their face makes everything worth it.

What tips do you have for couples planning their wedding?

The biggest tip I’d have would be to delegate, delegate, delegate! Don’t be afraid to ask for help, whether it be professional by using vendors, or getting your friends and family involved. It’s a big day and you should just be able to relax and enjoy all the small magical moments xox
