Lace & Bright Florals – Vintage Wedding Inspiration

Magnolia Manor made the perfect backdrop for this sweet elopement styled shoot. The inclusion of brightly coloured floral arrangements and bold red lipstick really pop with all of the other styling elements kept very simple and understated.

The ceremony is a wonderful example of how you don’t need to go overboard with styling. The grounds of Magnolia Manor are fortunate enough to house sprawling trees and their long branches are a perfect location for a simple ceremony set up. The styling team draped a luxurious long piece of flowing fabric up and over the branches to create an arch look but without the tedious construction work involved in assembling a free standing arbour. Strung from the centre is a simple chandelier which could either be hired from a styling company such as in this case or could be an upcycled find from an antique store. For evening weddings if the lighting fixture is in working order this could also be lit to create a wonderful ambience.

The bride’s dress is chic and stylish with a nod to the 50s. Her hair set in glamorous fingerwaves similar to a hollywood star in the 1920s or 30s. Her fitted gown features a sweeping train with a lace cut out panel through the back. Instead of a long tulle veil she wears a short birdcage veil which frames her face beautifully and is the perfect accessory.

Clever consideration was used with the styling of the reception look featuring antique book covers all in the same shades as those chosen for the fresh floral bouquet. The other element that I love with the reception styling was the use of lace trim as runners along the white table. This is a darling vintage element that’s softer than using antique doilies.

A simple naked cake is glammed up with fresh florals and one section of the cake gently brushed with gold foil.

Much of the styling elements throughout this gorgeous shoot can be used for a stunning small elopement or a huge fabulous affair!
