There is so much to think about when styling your wedding – your gown, the best bridesmaid dresses to complement you but not outshine you, fresh bouquets or something hand crafted…. then of course there are the little touches that are truly what brings your whole day together. One of these elements are your wedding favours – the gorgeous little thank you gifts that you lay out for all of your guests. Now traditionally these were 5 sugared almonds, but things have come a long way in the world of favours since then. One option that we really love are “live favours” – a gift that keeps on giving for all of your guests to continue to remember your special day.
At our upcoming Brisbane Vintage and Handmade Wedding Fair the team behind Pureness Essity Gifts will be showcasing their fantastic little olive tree favours!
Can you tell us a bit about Pureness Essity Gifts?
We are an offshoot from our wholesale propagation nursery …….we have the sole Australian rights to the tree “Helena” Olive which was brought to St Helena Island in the 1870’s by the visiting magistrate from England to the then penal settlement. We saw an opportunity to use the really TRUE meaning of the Olive Tree….. Peace and Unity….. for wedding ceremonies the two go hand in hand.
What inspires you to create gorgeous favours?
I work with the brides myself and together we create the right Bomboniere (favour) for their special day……it’s great fun and so far have produced fantastic results.
If you had to define your style what would it be?
Environmentally aesthetic to frilly and fluffy.
Do you do custom orders?
All of our orders are ‘one offs’ all are created for the function…….wedding to corporate.
Where are you based and what areas do you service?
Our nursery and growing area is at Park Ridge south of Brisbane but we have serviced a lot of SE Qld.
What is your favourite wedding story?
One of our ‘wedding favour’ orders was actually the invitation…….to the wedding……we put the horse before the cart you could say.

How early should couples arrange their favours before their big day?
