Getting to Know You… Bubbly Bridal Bouquets

With only 7 weeks to go until our big Vintage and Handmade Wedding Fair in Brisbane we have been busy getting to know all of the fantastic vendors who will be exhibiting on the day.

Over the coming weeks we will share our chats with each and every one of those businesses so that you can all get to know a little bit more about them before meeting them face to face on Sunday 18th August.  Don’t forget to head to our Wedding Fairs page to get all of the latest information including details on the amazing prizes that will be drawn at the end of the day and get your tickets in advance to save yourself $5 each on entry.

The first of our vendors is Leanne from Bubbly Bridal Bouquets…

Can you tell us a bit about Bubbly Bridal Bouquets?

Bubbly Bridal Bouquets was created out of a passion of mine to create hand crafted flowers for my four beautiful daughters. After realising that I had made more flowers than my daughters would ever need, I created a bouquet and fell in love with it! I then showed the bouquet to a few ladies at my work and was immediately rushed with orders! I find inspiration in fabric be it new or vintage to make unique pieces for happy couples so that they can have a keepsake to remember their special day.

Can you describe your style for us?

I love creating flowers for bouquets that are perfectly crafted to ooze romance and beauty. My favourite bouquets are made with flowers that are ivory, dusky pinks and golden tones. I also love adding special touches such as embellishments of hand selected brooches and additions such as buttons, feathers and lace.

Where are you based and what areas do you service?
Bubbly Bridal Bouquets is Brisbane based. (That’s a lot of B’s). I happily post my flowers interstate and overseas.

What type of bouquets do you offer?

Custom made by request and bouquets that I have dreamed up.

What advice do you have for couples choosing their flowers / bouquets?
Create and compile a colour palette and theme for your bouquet and flowers and love it, dream it and then live it on the day and cherish it forever.

How early should couples book with you?

Depending on the work involved and pieces ordered, at a minimum please allow three weeks.

What is your favourite wedding story?
During a break in the middle of her deployment in Afghanistan, my friend met her fiancé in Hawaii and got married in secret. They then had another wedding with their family and friends once she returned from her deployment. They didn’t share with anyone (but me because I had been her roommate at the time) that they had gotten married whilst they were on holidays. When I asked her why they got married without telling anyone, she told me that the time they had spent apart had reminded them that they needed to be together and that they could no longer wait to be married. The pictures of the weddings x 2 were absolutely beautiful! I thought it was very romantic.

What do you love most about creating your bouquets?
I find that I am the most relaxed when I am making flowers for my bouquets and I am so happy when brides love the bouquets that I have made for them.

What do you think are the upcoming trends for 2013/2014 weddings?

Texture, uniqueness and lots of vintage romance.

What can couples expect when they visit your stand in August?
To feel all bubbly with happiness because they found their bouquet!

Are you running any specials on the day?
Yes, a bridal package with the beautiful Brides bouquet and two bridesmaids bouquets for $350.
