Emma & Jeremy’s Vintage Brunch Wedding at The Gardens Club

Having a vintage inspired wedding was just a given for Emma & Jeremy. Emma has been into rockabilly culture for years and has always done things a little different. “Jeremy and I are morning people. Due to our jobs were used to getting up early and just loved brunch style food. Were not big drinkers so having a big boozy night time wedding would not reflect who we are at all.  I loved hearing stories from my grandmother about her wedding day. It was a much simpler time. Her mother made her dress. Friends made her cake and the celebration after was held back in the family home which was decorated with ornaments she borrowed of friends. I loved this idea of being a thrifty bride and having memories created in the family home. With my grandmothers wedding as inspiration I tried to source as much as I could second hand and utilise friends to do as much as possible. Everything looked absolutely stunning and I love how I can look back and remember my beautiful friends for helping me create my perfect day.”

“After looking at so many venues and finally finding The Gardens Club I just knew that’s where I wanted to hold our vintage  brunch wedding.  We had the beautiful botanical gardens to get gorgeous photos and hold our ceremony and then the heritage listed Gardens Club Café to hold our reception. The inside of the gardens club feels like a cosy house . I didn’t want it to feel like just another function room.”

“I chose Amanda from Peppermint Photography after falling in love with her style on her website . Her photos are different. There a raw and capture detail I haven’t seen by any other photographer.”

“My pearl necklace and earrings were my grandmother’s.  They were given to her by my grandad when they first started dating so they are almost 70 years old ! My bag was a original glomesh bag still in the box I found in an OP shop.”

“After looking at several bridal stores and collections online I had almost given up hope. My sister suggested having a look at Elite Bridal in Geebung.  I knew I wanted a lace dress and when I saw my dress  by Wendy-Ann I knew it was the one. It was a simple lace gown on the rack , but once I tried it on it just looked amazing. It reminded me of the Chantilly lace on my grandmothers dress and I just knew then this dress was special.”

For their celebrant the couple chose Jennifer Cram, “Absolutely brilliant. Couldn’t recommend more highly. She made the ceremony so personal and also mentioned our cats!”

To liven up the reception Emma & Jeremy chose DJ Brad.  “We was fantastic. Highly experienced and really kept the reception fun and engaging . He worked with us to find out what music we liked and didn’t to create a brilliant set list which got everyone dancing. We played a lot of old swing and 50’s classic rock n roll music.”
