Andrea & Matthew married in an outdoor rainforest ceremony which was followed by a garden party with drinks, nibbles, lawn games and mingling. Choosing a rustic vintage themed winter wedding, their reception was located in a beautifully set up old barn at the same venue.
The couple kept their celebration a family affair with their 3 daughters as flower girls and son as the ring bearer.
“We opted for a short ceremony because we are both not used to the spotlight and scared of public speaking. I’m very happy about this choice because I don’t think I have ever been more nervous in my life, it was a huge relief when the ceremony was over because we could relax! We also chose a celebrant who helped the ceremony match us perfectly and made it a lot easier for us!”
Andrea’s advice for future brides:
“Try not to stress about things you cannot control e.g. Weather, other people’s behaviour. No matter how hard you try you can’t control everything, sometimes you need to take a step back and go with the flow. Always try to see a positive!”
“If you’ve thought about DIY go for it! I saved hundreds by making my own flower crowns, button holes, flower girl bouquets, wedding favours and other little bits and pieces. Make sure you do your research and have a trial before hand so you know what you’re doing.”
“Don’t leave things that can be done early until the last minute. Organisation and early preparation = less stress.”
“Most importantly relax and enjoy your day! Take a moment to sit and chat to your new husband, hold hands, smile and cuddle! It’s a wonderful day!”
