Vintage Bride Wedding Fair Newcastle Vendors – Part 3

Excitement is certainly building here at Vintage Bride headquarters as it’s now under 2 weeks until we hit the road (well hit the airport) and set up our lovely Vintage Bride Wedding Fair in Newcastle on Sunday 22nd June from 10am to 3pm.  We’ll be at the Newcastle Panthers along with over 25 of our favourite wedding businesses who service Newcastle & the Hunter Valley and share our love of all things vintage.

We still have a few special brides tickets available from our events page for the lucky first 50 brides to purchase their ticket in advance and receive a bride’s bag including the latest issue of Vintage Bride magazine as well as the past issue and some  other handy little checklists to help with your planning.

Today we are showcasing a few more of the fabulous wedding professionals who will be there with us on the day:

Sica Wedding Invitations

Can you tell us a bit about Sica Wedding Invitations?
Sica Wedding Invitations, based out of Newcastle NSW, create beautiful & unique wedding invitations for the modern day couple to wed. With a wide range of invitation options available the creative possibilities are endless.

As a self-proclaimed romantic at heart, I know how hard it is to escape the cheesefactor when it comes to love, so I began designing some invitations that engage colourful, fun, modern, beautiful and unique styles to provide an alternative to the cream-coloured-french-embedded-font invitations.

Sica Wedding InvitationsWhere are you based and what areas do you service?

We are based in the beautiful Newcastle NSW. We provide wedding invitations to any local area, as well as nationally and sometimes even internationally, as long as you have a mailbox we can deliver to you!

How would you describe your style?

Non traditional, beautiful, bright and creative designs for the modern bride and groom that are after something unique to their style.

What advice do you have for couples choosing their invitation suite?

Have a look around at invitation styles on Pinterest. Search for key words based on your wedding theme, colour scheme or personal style. Decide if you’d like just the invitation, or perhaps would like an RSVP card with a return envelope, or even an information card for accommodation / transport details. Decide if you’d like a pocket to hold these in, along with matching envelope. Then come to us and we can provide you with pre designed or custom solutions to suit your needs and budget.

How early should couples look at booking in?

A month before they require the invitations is best so that theres plenty of time for consultation, design, printing and delivery. Of course we can do our best if a last minute request comes through.

Couples should also aim to have their invitations 2 months prior to their RSVP by date just to make sure theres plenty of time for posting and for the attendee’s to respond.

What do you love most about making wedding invitations?

I love designing something beautiful and then bringing it to life for others to enjoy. Theres no better feeling.

What is your favourite wedding story?

I don’t have a favourite story in particular, but I do love international weddings, following acquaintances closely as they journey to Russia, Japan, India and Las Vegas for such unique marriage experiences has been aw inspiring. So much culture, glam, excitement and colour to make it an unforgettable day.

What do you think are the upcoming trends for 2014/2015 weddings?

Colourful designs with free flowing font. Custom designs with engagement shoot photo’s is also quite big at the moment, bringing that extra personal touch to your wedding invitations.

High Tea 2 U

Can you tell us a bit about High Tea 2 U?

I have always enjoyed being in the kitchen. It all stemmed from years of helping my nanna in the kitchen making wholesome, delightful food that made you savour every mouthful. After experiencing some disappointing high teas, I decided to make it my goal to provide a luxurious high tea service that was personalised, intimate and, of course, delicious.

Where are you based and what areas do you service?

I am based in Newcastle and service all the Newcastle and Hunter regions.

What kind of packages do you offer?

I offer a Classic, Deluxe and Social package. Prices for high teas range from $29 p/head to $55 p/head. I aim to offer a flexible service that is tailored to each customer. I also do boxes of sweets, cakes and speciality catering.

Do you have a favourite type of cake or tart?

I confess, I’m a massive fan of Banoffee pies; the combination of a sweet biscuit pastry, rich caramel, fresh banana and cream is amazing. When it comes to savoury, I am really loving caramelised beetroot and Spanish onion tart with a nice tangy horseradish dressing.

How early should couples or brides book in for your delicious high tea?

At least a month is preferable but I’m a very flexible person who loves what I do so am generally able to make things happen with little notice.

What do you think are the upcoming trends for 2014/2015 weddings?

I have definitely noticed more people wanting a more personalised, handmade themed wedding. Lots of local flowers, lace, hessian and a general boutique feel.

What advice do you have for couples when they are thinking about having a high tea buffet at their wedding?

Think outside the square. I like sticking to a traditional arrangement for high teas i.e. sandwich, savoury, sweet and scones but that doesn’t mean that those things have to be traditional flavours. Spice it up with lemonade and lavender scones, beautiful sourdough sandwiches, beetroot and goats cheese tarts, chai, pepper and cream cheese cupcakes and basil and pomegranate cake.

What is your favourite wedding story?

I attended a beautiful two day vintage themed wedding at Magic Mountain in November which was the combination of amazing location, beautiful decorations, great food and a real closeness and warmth amongst the guests. The best part was; it was the wedding of my brother and I had the pleasure of supplying the treats which included a 10 tiered macaroon tower.

What do you love most about creating high tea treats?

The anticipation of the customer’s reaction when they try them. Nothing beats that beautiful feedback I get from guests; it makes all the late nights and early mornings worthwhile. The wonderful thing about food is that it has the ability to bring people together… and when the food is something I’ve made; makes it all the more special.

What can couples expect when they visit your stand in June?

Freshly made yummy treats, refreshing iced tea, a visual idea of what High Tea 2 U looks like and, of course, me; a warm, friendly lady who is there to offer thoughtful advice, helpful suggestions and high tea information.
