The Irish Club in the heart of Brisbane City is really a true hidden gem.  I’ve been lucky enough to be involved with a few events in the gorgeous Tara Ballroom and it really is a must consider for those planning a vintage style wedding in Brisbane.  For those of you who have never heard of the Irish Club we recently asked them a few questions about their venue.

Can you tell us a bit about The Irish Club?

The Irish Club is members and guests club and the home of the Queensland Irish Association. The Irish Club provides bar, restaurant, function and gaming facilities to its members and guests. The Irish Club is conveniently located in ‘Tara House’, 175 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane 4000 and has been incorporated since 1924.

Can you give us a run down on your venue and what options couples have with you?

Located in the heart of Brisbane City, The Irish Club offers the classic beauty of a heritage listed function venue.

How early should couples book their reception with you?

We have couples book their reception up to 2 years prior to their wedding however we are happy to take bookings closer their wedding if required. Couple just need to keep in mind that Oct-Dec and April-May are our busiest periods so the more notice the better to ensure we can offer them their special date

What do you think are the upcoming trends for 2013/2014 weddings?

Vintage weddings are coming more popular with styles of dresses coming back from the earlier times.  If a classic wedding is what you are after The Irish Club is the perfect venue as it is a heritage listed venue and has so much history for guests to indulge

What advice do you have for couples when they are thinking about their reception?

It is your special day so if you want something special don’t be afraid to ask

What do you love most about being a wedding coordinator / wedding venue?

The look on the bride and grooms face when they first walk in to the venue and see all their friends and family as a newly married couple

What can couples expect when they visit your stand in August?

A insight into our Tara Ballroom and what it is like to be in it when it is decorated

Are you running any specials on the day?

Any couples that book their wedding at the Irish Club from the Fair and pay their deposit before October 2013 will receive a complimentary Irish Piper to pipe them in to their reception.
